How can we help?

Quick answers to common questions, or send us a message. A real person reads every one.

Getting started

How do I add things?

Tap the mic and say it, or type if you prefer. You can add several things at once, like “dentist Tuesday at 9 and call Mum tonight”. Donty shows you what it understood and saves it.

Can I change or delete things by voice?

Yes. Try “move the dentist to Wednesday”, “rename the gym habit” or “delete the call with Dave”. Bigger changes, like deleting something, are checked with you first. You can also tap any item to edit it by hand.

How do I connect my calendar?

Donty uses the calendars already on your iPhone, so there’s nothing extra to sign in to. When Donty asks for calendar access, choose Allow Full Access.

To see a work calendar (for example Outlook or Google), add that account to your iPhone first: Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts. Then choose which calendars Donty shows in Donty’s settings.

How do I use Siri with Donty?

Say “Hey Siri, tell Donty”. When Siri asks what’s on your mind, say it, and Donty takes it from there. Your iPhone needs to be unlocked.

How do I add the Donty widget?

Home Screen: touch and hold an empty area, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Donty.

Lock Screen: touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customise, choose the Lock Screen, then add Donty.

Troubleshooting

Donty can’t hear me

Open Settings → Apps → Donty on your iPhone and make sure Microphone and Speech Recognition are both on. If you’re on a call or another app is using the mic, finish that first.

My calendar events aren’t showing

Open Settings → Apps → Donty → Calendars and choose Full Access. Then check the calendar is switched on in Donty’s own settings. Work calendars need to be added to your iPhone first (see “How do I connect my calendar?” above).

Reminders or alarms aren’t going off

Check Settings → Apps → Donty → Notifications is on, and that a Focus mode (like Sleep or Do Not Disturb) isn’t silencing Donty.

For alarms, allow Donty to set alarms when your iPhone asks. If you said no before, you can change it in Settings → Apps → Donty.

Opening Donty at least once a day helps it keep your meeting reminders and alarms up to date.

Donty misunderstood me

Just tell it, like you would a person: “no, I meant next Friday”. You can also tap the item to fix it. Donty’s AI is good, but it can make mistakes, so do check anything important.

I haven’t received my sign-in email

Wait a minute or two and check your junk or spam folder. If it still hasn’t arrived, send us a message using the form and we’ll sort it out.

Subscriptions and billing

How do I cancel my subscription?

On iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Choose Donty and tap Cancel Subscription.

On Android: open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Choose Donty and tap Cancel subscription.

To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before your trial or billing period ends. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel your subscription.

How do I ask for a refund?

Apple and Google take the payments, so refunds go through them.

  • iPhone: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Android: request a refund through Google Play. If it’s been more than 48 hours since you paid, send us a message and we’ll help.

This doesn’t affect your legal rights as a consumer.

I’ve got a new phone. How do I keep my subscription?

Sign in to Donty with the same email address, open the subscription screen and tap Restore purchases. Your subscription is linked to your Apple Account or Google account, so it comes with you.

What does “price protected for life” mean?

Once you subscribe, your price can only rise in line with inflation (or if VAT changes), for as long as your subscription carries on, even if our prices go up more for new members. We’ll always tell you in advance. If you cancel and come back later, the price at that time applies. The full wording is in our terms.

Delete your account and data

In the app: open Donty, go to Settings and choose Delete my account. Your account and everything in it are deleted permanently, straight away.

Without the app: email hello@donty.app from the email address you sign in with, with the subject “Delete my account”. We’ll confirm, then delete your account and data within one month (usually much sooner).

What’s deleted

  • Your account and sign-in details
  • Everything you’ve saved in Donty: tasks, events, notes, habits, goals, protected time, people and areas
  • Your conversations with Donty and your settings

What’s kept, and for how long

  • Events Donty added to your phone’s calendar stay in that calendar, because they belong to it. You can delete them in your Calendar app.
  • Backups held by our hosting provider are overwritten on a rolling basis, so any copies there disappear within 30 days.
  • If you’ve emailed us, we keep that conversation for up to 2 years in case you need us again.
  • Subscription records (your plan and renewal dates, held with RevenueCat) are kept for up to 6 years where tax and accounting law requires it.
  • Usage statistics, if switched on, are kept for up to 2 years. They never include what you said or saved.
  • Our AI provider, Anthropic, normally deletes requests within 30 days of receiving them.
  • Apple or Google keep their own records of your purchases under their privacy policies.

Deleting your account doesn’t cancel your subscription. Please cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings too.

Want a copy first? Use Export my data in Donty’s Settings before you delete.
